Stem Cell Sources
Phenicell Regenerative Institute in Columbus, Ohio uses adult stem cells from several acceptable tissue types and sites. Stem cells from various sources are actively being researched for treatment of a whole host of diseases and ailments.
Bone Marrow Aspiration with Concentration (BMA or BMAC)
Bone Marrow aspirates are taken from the vertebral body (bony spine) or iliac crest (hip bone) of the patient using a needle under sterile conditions. The area is anesthetized, the bone marrow blood is aspirated, concentrated in a centrifuge machine and given back to the same patient. Much research supports this stem cell source and stem cell therapy as helpful to patients with a variety of conditions.
Extracellular Vesicles
Here at Phenicell Regenerative Institute, we are proud to announce that we now provide exosome therapy for a wide variety of ailments. Exosomes, in general, are sophisticated, nano-scale biologic signals encapsulated in tiny vesicle packets that communicate information between cells of the body. Mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-derived extracellular vesicles have great clinical potential. Phenicell has chosen use only the highest quality of extracellular vesicles from reputable companies including Kimera (www.kimeralabs.com) and Organicell (www.organicell.com) Come see us in person to learn how extracellular vesicles can help you.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
This is patient's own blood drawn from the peripheral vein in the arm or hand. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is defined as an autologous concentrated preparation of platelets and their associated growth factors in a small volume of plasma. Platelets are a natural source of numerous growth factors in their natural and biologically-determined ratios. Plasma is the liquid aspect of our blood which contain all the cellular components such as red and white blood cells, as well as platelets. PRP is not technically stem cells, but rather a source of natural healing growth factors and other substances from these platelets, which have been shown to be helpful given alone or in combination with stem cells from sources listed above. Using PRP offers an innovative and promising approach to tissue regeneration and healing in general. There are many clinical indications for PRP.
Umbilical Cord and Birth Tissue Stem Cells
Research has shown that the utilization of human cell and tissue products from the umbilical cord and placental birth tissues may have a massive effect on many injuries and human physical conditions. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) can be easily obtained from umbilical cords without harm to the donors and no discomfort to you. Cord tissue MSCs have a shorter doubling time than adult mesenchymal stem cells and also have more potential divisions.
